Disaster Relief Activated for Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, and Scenic Rim
The Federal and State Governments have activated the Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme for residents in Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, and Scenic Rim affected by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Support measures include:
- Emergency Hardship Assistance: $180 per person or up to $900 for families of five or more to cover immediate essentials like food, clothing, and medicine.
- Essential Services Hardship Assistance: $150 per person or up to $750 for families experiencing a loss of essential services for over five consecutive days.
- Essential Household Contents Grants: Up to $1,765 for individuals or $5,300 for couples or families to replace essential items like bed linen and white goods.
- Structural Assistance Grants: Up to $80,000 for uninsured, income-tested owner-occupiers to repair or replace damaged homes to ensure they are safe and habitable.
