Celebrating Diversity at the 2024 Multicultural Awards
The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre hosted the 2024 Multicultural Awards, honouring exceptional contributions in health, community services, and employment across Queensland. The event celebrated those breaking down barriers and fostering inclusivity in a multicultural society.
Among the attendees were Liz Conroy, Project Manager of the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee, and many other distinguished guests. The highlight of the evening was the award presentation to Ms Sara Shams, who received the Minister’s Multicultural Award for her advocacy for culturally and linguistically diverse individuals with disabilities.
The night also provided an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, including Minister Charis Mullen MP, who introduced the new Multicultural Action Plan 2024-27, Matt Perry from Workforce Australia Local Jobs – Brisbane SE, and Ipswich City Council Mayor Teresa Harding.
Organised by Multicultural Affairs, Queensland Government, the event was a resounding success, celebrating the strength and diversity of Queensland’s communities.
