Future SEQ Forum: Crafting South East Queensland’s Legacy

This month the Committee for Brisbane hosted the highly anticipated Future SEQ: Designing Our Legacy Outcomes Forum, gathering influential leaders to discuss strategies for the future of South East Queensland (SEQ).

Notable speakers included Brett Clark AM, Director of the Brisbane 2023 Organising Committee; Wayne Gerard, Member of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy Committee; Tessa Leggo, Queensland Chapter President; and Chris Poynter, General Manager Queensland at Transurban. They shared valuable insights on leveraging opportunities and addressing challenges in the region.

The forum emphasised the Committee’s strategic pillars of Connectivity, Enterprise and Creativity, and Equity, which are crucial for fostering a dynamic and inclusive SEQ, especially with the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Discussions centred on ideas for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics, focusing on technology, transport, green pathways, and the arts. Participants explored building a lasting legacy for Queensland through transport upgrades, enhanced connectivity, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
