Mahon Bridge Upgrade Underway in Lockyer Valley

The Lockyer Valley is set for improved road safety and connectivity with the upgrade of Mahon Bridge in Carpendale now underway. This project, funded under the Australian Government’s Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP), will enhance access for residents and businesses in the region.

The Australian Government is contributing $4.99 million, with Lockyer Valley Regional Council providing an additional $1.89 million to complete the works. While temporary road closures may be necessary, the upgrade will deliver safer and more reliable infrastructure, supporting the region’s long-term growth and connectivity.

This investment marks another step in strengthening local roads and ensuring a better-connected future for the Lockyer Valley.
