Stronger Communities Programme – Round 9
The Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) is back with its ninth round, offering grants of $2,500 to $20,000 to community organisations and local governments. These grants are designed to support infrastructure projects that deliver vital social benefits to local communities.
Key Details:
- Opening Date: 14 February 2025
- Funding Available: $22.65 million
- Grant Range: $2,500 to $20,000 per project
- Eligible Activities: Must align with the program objectives as outlined in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
How It Works:
Community input is central to the SCP process. Projects are selected by Members of Parliament (MPs) in collaboration with community consultation committees before being submitted to the Government for final assessment.
Since its inception, the SCP has funded over 17,400 community-based projects, strengthening communities and delivering both social and economic benefits across Australia.
Past Success:
The program has supported a wide range of initiatives, from improving local sporting facilities to enhancing community spaces, creating lasting positive impacts on local areas.
What’s Next?
Community organisations and local governments are encouraged to start preparing their project proposals to take advantage of this opportunity when Round 9 opens in early 2025.
