Key roads within the Gatton Industrial Precinct are set to receive a significant upgrade, with almost $3.6 million being invested to improve road and drainage infrastructure.The Australian Government is contributing $2.876 million towards the project through the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program – Tranche 3, with Lockyer Valley Regional Council contributing approximately $719,000.
The project will deliver improvements to Market Drive, Freeman Road and Brooking Drive, addressing deteriorated road surfaces and ageing infrastructure within the industrial precinct.
Works will include the removal and replacement of deteriorated surface seal and upper road-base, as well as the replacement of a substandard stormwater drainage system. A new 15-metre section of stormwater drainage will also be installed.
The upgrades will help improve the safety, resilience and reliability of roads servicing the Gatton Industrial Precinct, including infrastructure used by heavy vehicles and local businesses.
Funding for the project was announced by the Australian Government in February 2026 as part of more than $14.8 million for five regional Queensland projects under the third tranche of the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.
